Application of FAKRA connector for automotive antenna
A car antenna is a device that intercepts high-frequency radio waves emitted by a transmitting station and transmits them to a receiver of a car radio, car phone, or radio navigation equipment to demodulate the carrier wave. In the automotive industry, antennas are generally represented by the FAKRA series.
The so-called FAKRA is a car audio and antenna specification connector jointly launched by 12 European and American car manufacturers led by German car manufacturers in 2000, with a maximum of 40 pins. General FAKRA needs to meet the American USCAR and German FAKRA automotive standards. FAKRA has high performance and cost-effective RF characteristics.
The application of FAKRA is generally:
Remote Information Processing Applications
– GPS
- Radio
- Television
- Mobile phone
– WiFi
– Bluetooth
- Keyless entry into the system
Other markets
– SDARS
- Smart grid
Regarding the authoritative FRKRA production supplier, I will briefly introduce the Standard FAKRA series to everyone. The following figure shows the cavity diagram of the Standard FAKRA series, mainly focusing on the following products.
Coding A: DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting)/radio equipment. The color of the plastic shell is dark black.
Coding B: DAB/radio equipment. The color of the plastic shell is creamy white.
Coding C: GPS Global (Satellite) Positioning System. The color of the plastic shell is signal blue.
Coding D: GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) mobile phone global system for mobile communication. The color of the plastic shell is Bordeaux purple.
Coding E: Video 1, Coding F: Video 2. The plastic shell colors are tree leaf green and brown.
Coding G: Remote control/keyless door lock, with a blue gray plastic shell.
Coding H: GPS, The plastic shell is violet.
Coding I: Wireless remote control heating, with a beige plastic shell.
Coding K: Radio with intermediate frequency (IF). The color of the plastic shell is curry yellow.
Coding L, M, N: Voice module, remote key, short-range communication. The colors of the plastic shell are: blush, light orange, and light green.
Coding Z: Neutral numbering. The plastic shell is water blue, and Coding Z3 is a legendary universal model that can be used for all coding, but Coding Z is generally only used for testing interfaces. So, when other models are short of materials, we can temporarily use Coding Z3 to deviate. In some special cases (not recommended), other coding can be ground into Z3 type to meet assembly requirements.
The color of the connector conforms to the RAL color series, but slight color differences are also acceptable during the production process.
